WELCOME

Dear attendees,

Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule EpCAM is a long-known tumour-associated antigen with numerous applications in diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy of cancer. Over the past few years added scientific interest on the actual molecular function of EpCAM in health and disease emerged. In this respect signalling events initiated by EpCAM and its high-level expression on disseminated cancer cells and cancer stem cells of various origins appear thrilling and may pave the way for new therapeutic modalities.

While planning the 2nd International Symposium on EpCAM, we decided to account for these emerging features of EpCAM. Consequently topics of this year´s symposium are:

The symposium will be held at the Evangelische Akademie Tutzing at Lake Starnberg, which is located close Munich, Germany. Registration is mandatory and the symposium will be limited to 120 participants. Posters and short talks can be submitted upon registration (see “abstract” section).

We are pleased to host you and are looking forward to an exiting symposium.

With very best regards,

Olivier Gires
